UPDATED MEN'S TRIP INFORMATION

Dear Choir Parents,

The holidays have passed and that means the San Antonio trip is right around the corner and there are still many things we need to do to prepare for that very special occasion.

TRIP PAYMENT STATUS
I have sent home a letter indicating the status of your child’s trip account. Many of you have already accumulated the total amount needed. Most of us are not too far away. I want to say again that if there is anyone out there who needs financial assistance with this, please let me know. There are a number of people who have indicated they are more than willing to help. Please remember that payment date for your child’s trip is Monday, February 1, 2010.

ELIGIBILITY
I also want to remind everyone that your child must be academically eligible in order to participate. The current six-week grading period ends on January 14^th, 2010. If your child fails this six-weeks, they must pass on their next progress report or they will be ineligible to attend the San Antonio trip. There is still a bit of the semester left after we get back from the holidays so, if there are grade issues, there is still time to deal with them.

T-SHIRT and CD/DVD ORDER FORM
Order forms for two special TMEA performance items - the TMEA Trip T-shirt and a CD/DVD of the TMEA performance - have been sent home and are available on our website. First, we want everyone to buy the LJI Men’s Choir TMEA trip shirt. It is a great looking T-Shirt, uniquely designed for this occasion, that will not only serve to advertise our program and build group pride, but will also allow our kids to be easily identified in a large group. Asking everyone to buy this shirt is really a safety issue. Once again, if the cost is prohibitive, let me know and we may be able to help.

The second item available for purchase is a recording of the San Antonio performance. You may purchase an audio CD, a DVD, or a CD-DVD bundle. It will include artwork and information from our program and will list the boys’ names as well. It will be recorded by professional sound engineers with decades of experience so it will be the best quality. The cost of the recordings will depend on how many units are ordered. Please see the order form for more information.

WEEKLY EVENING REHEARSALS – TUESDAYS
Also, starting in January, we will be having evening rehearsals every week. They will be moved from Mondays to Tuesdays to accommodate 7^th grade boys basketball games. They will be 6:00 to 8:00 and will begin on the evening of January 5^th. We will only have 5 of those special rehearsals before our concert on Feb 5^th at the Clarion Theater with the Friendswood Junior High girls’ choir so they are all very important.

PARENT MEETING
Finally, we must call a parent meeting the evening of Thursday, Jan 14^th. I know there are 8^th grade basketball games that night but we need to see everyone and discuss many issues concerning the trip. I take safety very seriously and I want to be sure everyone is onboard.
