Dear Choir Parents,

            Things are getting off to a great start this year at good old LJI. I am impressed with what I am hearing from the kids so far and looking forward to their first concert, Oct. 8^th.

As it says on your calendar, the All-Region Choir auditions will be held on Saturday, 13^th at Westbrook Intermediate School in League City. Lake Jackson has consistently had a significant membership in this elite organization and I hope to see that continue this year. With that in mind we are going to be starting section rehearsals beginning next week, Sep. 10^th. The rehearsals will be held in the choir room at 7:07 am.

            The schedule will be as follows.

TENOR TIME – Tuesdays 7:07 am

ALTOS IN ACTION – Wednesdays 7:07 am

SOPRANO SOCIAL – Thursdays 7:07 am

BASS BASH – Fridays 7:07 am

            Section rehearsals are invaluable to a quality choir program. We have 3 of our choirs that have one the Sweepstakes Award at contest every year for the last 5 years and another that has won it three years in a row. It is my belief that this was due, in large part, to our section rehearsals.

            As per your choir handbook, these are required rehearsals. These rehearsals will constitute a substantial part of the student’s grade. Be considerate of others by making sure you arrive on time. If your child cannot attend one of the section rehearsals please let me know by e-mail or by a note sent the next day. Sectionals can be made up by scheduling an after school appointment with Mr. Hill. It is the student’s responsibility to arrange their make-up time. I know you will do your best to see to it that your child fulfills their obligations to their friends in choir. We can not do this without your help and support, and we thank you, in advance, for all you do.
